EuroSTAMP is designed as a forum of information to facilitate a better understanding between high ranking executives, thus allowing them to work more efficiently in a European environment.
The general aim of EuroSTAMP is to provide decision making personnel (e.g. members of Steering Committees of international programmes, planners of future cooperative activities in international organisations such as EDA) with the necessary sensitivity for taking into account common needs when acting in their national positions.
It is intended to join military personnel with the rank of Brigadier or higher together with civilian personnel with equivalent rank. Sessions are included providing information about the current international context such as European Security and Defence Policy, the technological situation in the armaments area and the respective industry. In this way, EuroSTAMP should stimulate intercultural communication, raise the awareness and thus facilitate the overcome of intercultural differences and promote building up an international armament network.
In 2006 and 2008, STAMP was successfully organized in cooperation between the Centre for Higher Armaments Studies (CHEAr) of the French Ministry of Defence and the Federal Academy of Defence Administration and Technology (BAkWVT) of the German Federal Ministry of Defence.
In 2010, EuroSTAMP was organized by the Federal Academy of Defence Administration and Technology (BAkWVT) of the German Federal Ministry of Defence on its own.
In 2011 and 2012, EuroSTAMP was organized by the Federal Academy of Defence Administration and Technology with contributions by the Institute of Higher National Defence Studies (Institut de Hautes Études de Défense National IHEDN) of the French Prime Minister.
Since 2013, the Federal Academy of Education and Training in the Bundeswehr (BiZBw) is organizing EuroSTAMP on its own.
